Guest/Spouse Program: Jacksonville Experience and DuPont Mansion  |  Included in Guest Registration

Monday, June 24th  |  9:00am - 2:00pm

Join a local historian and storyteller for an entertaining tour through historic Jacksonville! A theme of the tour will be Jacksonville’s greatest philanthropist, Jessie Ball DuPont. Our first stop is a park named in honor of Jessie Ball DuPont, to see the largest living thing in the city. Next, you will tour the nearby Riverside/Avondale area that was ranked by APA as a “Top 10 Great Neighborhood in America” where you'll see the historic houses with their varied architectural styles that make up the picturesque community along the river. The area is famous for chocolate covered popcorn so there will be a stop to sample some tasty treats. Lunch will be held at the old mansion of Alfred and Jessie DuPont. The former home has had many distinguished guests through the years including the Vanderbilts, Carnegies, and a U.S. President. After a tour of the grounds of the mansion, the bus will head back to the Sawgrass Marriott Resort.
