The 2025 Western Regional Conference will take place February 21-25, 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sacramento in Sacramento, California. Student & Emerging Professionals Scholarships
The Practicing Foresters Institute awards scholarships to emerging professionals and students to support participation in ACF conferences. Up to twenty emerging professionals and current students will be selected to attend the 2024 Gulf Regional Conference, detailed above. See below for information specific to each type of scholarship. All applications must be submitted by January 17, 2024.
For Current Students:
Attending the ACF Gulf Regional Conference provides the selected students with the opportunity to learn more about the consulting forestry profession, to meet forestry students from other forestry schools and to interact with practicing consulting foresters and potential employers.
Student scholarships cover: Forester Registration for the 2024 Gulf Regional Conference featuring a Welcome Reception, Technical Sessions, Breakfast, Breaks, Lunch, and Dinner plus Sunday (2/18) and Monday (2/19) night accommodations at the conference hotel (double occupancy). Click here to apply.
For Emerging Professionals:
All are eligible to apply, regardless of membership status in ACF. There are no defined age or experience level requirements although preference will be given to those in the early stages of their career or new to the consulting forestry or related profession. Applications will be evaluated based on demonstration of interest in pursuing or continuing a career in professional consulting forestry or a related field and financial need.
Emerging Professionals scholarships will be used to cover one Forester Registration plus registration for both the pre-conference workshop and post-conference field tour. Emerging Professionals Scholarship recipients are responsible for accommodations and travel expenses related to conference attendance. Click here to apply.
